Why The Dual-Phase Process?
Watch the Video
At Minder, all patients complete a 2-hour cognitive evaluation (Phase 1) and only those who show evidence of cognitive impairment in Phase 1 are asked to complete the additional 2-3 hours of testing (Phase 2). This dual-phase process saves time and energy and reduces costs by 40-60% for most patients.

How Minder’s 5-Star Telehealth Model Works

The Patient completes an intake form covering their psychological and cognitive health history.
Minder schedules a brief “Tech Check” 48-72 hours prior to make sure test day goes smoothly or sends a training video (if desired).
The patient receives a packet in the mail that will be used to record responses to some of the tests (with their phone on a supplied tripod so Minder can see too).
A Minder neuropsychologist greets the patient via Zoom and conducts a clinical interview. A psychometrist then begins the testing.
The Patient completes the rest of the tests by answering orally. We enter all answers online so there’s a digital record.
The following week, the Minder neuropsychologist providers feedback to the patient over Zoom & sends a comprehensive written report.

What is a Neuropsychological Evaluation?

Neuropsychological Evaluation
A neuropsychological evaluation is a formal evaluation of cognitive abilities. It involves an interview with a clinical neuropsychologist and administration of various paper and pencil tests to test skills such as memory, attention, and executive functioning. The goal is to determine if a patient has a cognitive disorder, and if so, what is causing it (e.g., autism, Alzheimer's, stroke, TBI, ADHD, etc). Results are used to guide treatment planning and support recommendations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Minder Memory evaluations, insurance, and how the process works.
How quickly will my patient be seen?
Most patients are scheduled within 1–2 weeks of referral — compared to the national average wait time of 9–12 months. Once the evaluation is complete, the written report is delivered directly to the referring provider.
How do I submit a referral?
You can refer a patient in 60 seconds online, or fax your referral to 858-408-2873. Our team will handle scheduling, intake, and all patient communication from there.
What conditions do you evaluate?
Minder specializes in neuropsychological and psychological evaluations for a broad range of conditions including Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, anxiety, depression, and other cognitive and behavioral disorders — for both adults and children.
What does the report include and when will I receive it?
You'll receive a comprehensive written report authored by a licensed neuropsychologist. Reports include clinical interview findings, standardized test results, diagnostic impressions, and specific treatment and care recommendations. Turnaround time is communicated at time of referral.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. Minder is in-network with most major insurance plans including Medicare, United, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Aetna. For patients without applicable coverage, we offer affordable out-of-pocket options so cost is rarely a barrier to completing the referral.
Is virtual neuropsychological testing clinically valid?
Yes. Virtual neuropsychological evaluation has been validated in peer-reviewed research and is now widely accepted across clinical and insurance settings. All evaluations are administered by 100% licensed neuropsychologists using standardized, clinically accepted protocols. Many providers find their patients are actually more comfortable completing testing from home.
What if I have questions about a specific patient or referral?
We have a dedicated provider support line. Call 1-855-264-6337 or email contact@mindermemory.com — our team is available to discuss individual cases, answer clinical questions, and provide referral status updates.
